The management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) has embarked on a national visit to user agencies across the country to deepen institutional collaboration with stakeholders as well as to learn at first-hand the experiences of personnel.
It was also to solicit input from user agencies to inform the next deployment for the 2022/2023 service year, and highlight the initiatives undertaken so far under the new administration led by the Executive Director, Osei Assibey Antwi.
The initiatives include GNSS/ MSMS Accounting Aid programme, GNSS/ Teaching Programme, GNSS/ IT solution Programme, GNSS/ Communication Project, GNSS/ Agri-Business Model, GNSS/ MOTAC Support Programme, GNSS Kumawu Youth Farm Project, GNSS Youth in Housing Project, GNSS Data and Research project, GNSS Support programme for sports and GNSS Climate change outreach programme.
Regional breakdown
In the Greater Accra Region, Mr Assibey Antwi, together with the Deputy Executive Director in charge of Operations, Kwaku Ohene Djan, and their entourage, including the Greater Accra Regional Director, Mad. Anastacia Zanoo, visited the University of Ghana and the Adenta Municipal District office.

Volta Region
In Volta, the Regional Director, Mr Ambrose Jnr Entsiwah, visited the Volta Regional Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) office in Ho, Ho Municipal Assembly, the Ho Teaching Hospital, and the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Hohoe.
Central Region
The acting Central Regional Director, Daniel Dawuso, and his team met with management of COA Research and Manufacturing Company, producers of COA Mixture. There was also a stopover at PANAFEST Foundation, Ghana Heritage Conservation, managers of the Kakum National Park, Museum and Monument Board who are managers of Forts and Castles in the region.
The delegation also visited the regional office of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Cape Coast Metro Hospital and St. Augstine’s College.
Ashanti Region
The Ashanti Region delegation, led by its Director, Alex Opoku Mensah, visited Fanmilk GH Ltd Kumasi, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Nickseth Construction Company and Kumawuman Rural Bank at Kumawu Ashanti.
Upper West Region
In the Upper East Region, the NSS Regional Director, Mr Mark N. Abbey, led a delegation of staff to visit the Ghana Tourism Authority, Upper West Regional Hospital, Delagio Hotel and the VRA Regional Office all in the Wa municipality.
Other user agencies visited included S.D. DOMBO UBIDS and Wa Municipal Hospital.
Brong Ahafo
The Brong Ahafo Regional Director, Prince Kankam Boadu, and his team paid a visit to Yedent Agro Group of Companies Limited (YAGCL), Tyco City Hotel, Enterprise Life Insurance Company and Victory Hardware.

Eastern Region
The regional director, Mr Benjamin Oduro Asante, and team paid a visit to the Blue Skies Company to interact with management. He outlined the Scheme’s vision and investment opportunities.
Northern Region
The Northern Regional Director of the NSS, Rev. George Gado, visited the Northern Electricity Department (NED) of the Volta River Authority (VRA) and the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) to interact with their management and service persons in the Sagnarigu and the Tolon districts.
