Students of Choggu Demonstration Junior High School in the Sagnarigu Municipality were full of smiles last week when an old student, Mr. Yakubu Hassan, donated 11 dual desks to ameliorate the suffering of students who were compelled to study on the bare floor.
This assistance followed Mr. Hassan’s visit to the school in November 2023 during which he was dismayed to find some students learning without desk.
He therefore promised to assist in that direction, hence the donation.
Handing over the desks to the PTA Chairman of the school, Alhaji Harun, Mr. Hassan hoped that his gesture would go a long way to assuage the plight of the affected students.
He said, as an old student, he is always guided by the motto of the school, which is “Determination and Perseverance,” and said this had guided his steps over the years.
