Dr. Gideon Boako, the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for the Tano North constituency, has pledged his commitment to championing the welfare of his constituents, with a firm drive rooted in community advancement rather than personal gain.
Speaking during a rally in his hometown of Bomaa over the weekend, Dr. Boako highlighted his intention to leverage his expertise and passion for humanitarian work to create tangible improvements in the lives of residents. “This position is not an avenue for self-aggrandisement. My objective is to work diligently to ensure development, create job opportunities, and lessen the burdens faced by any constituent in Bomaa and beyond,” Dr. Boako affirmed.
“Today, the NPP has created avenues for the private sector to thrive. Your children, nieces, cousins, and colleagues enjoy free senior high school education. The onus lies on you to vote massively for Dr. Bawumia, and I come to the December elections for more projects,” he assured.
He noted that a vote for John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would be a vote for retrogression, and for that reason all voters must not make the mistake of allowing the NDC to lead the nation again.
Political expediency
He indicated: “I know the NDC would capitalise on politics of expediency and lies to convince you for your vote. When they come, tell them that we are for Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Boako. Let’s demonstrate to them that we don’t have short memories and admire the NPP”.
The highlight of the rally was eminent with the appearance of the Vice-President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Dr. Bawumia’s presence drew even more excitement, adding momentum to Dr. Gideon Boako’s campaign as individuals from far and near thronged the rally grounds to catch a glimpse, and listen to the good messages of the dynamic duo of Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Boako.
Dr. Gideon Boako added that as a trusted advisor to the Vice- President, he had gained a reputation for his sharp intellect and dedication to public service, and that his endorsement by Dr. Bawumia and the appeal across political lines are a clear indication of selflessness.
“The rally has seen a diverse turnout, with people from all backgrounds uniting to show their support for me in my parliamentary bid. Dr. Bawumia will continue to make Ghana a better place, given his humility, selflessness and dedication. Ghana deserves a well-grounded approach for socio-economic development, and only the NPP can provide it,” he stressed.
Dr. Gideon Boako expressed gratitude to the Vice-President, crediting him for mentorship and support that had shaped his political journey and his entire life, saying, “everything I am, I am because of VEEP.”
Social intervention
For his part, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia urged the people of Bomaa and its environs to understand the need for digitisation, free education and the other social intervention programmes his government has championed over the years.
“I will tell you that with the NPP, tangible policies needed to drive home development in all sectors of the economy are what we stand for. We promised a digital address system, and delivered. We promised Free Senior High School and delivered. We promised one child one laptop and delivered among other key interventions, unlike the NDC’s administration,” he noted.
He, therefore, called on them to vote massively for the NPP for increased infrastructural development, decentralisation, job creation, digital literacy, improved education and their general wellbeing.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bawumia used the opportunity to commission the newly built office of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) at Bomaa.
