Police in the Eastern Region have begun investigation into the unfortunate crash between a motorcycle and a Hyundai minibus at Adawso in the Akuapem North Municipality, says the Deputy Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Francis Gomado
On March 2, at around 8pm, a 19-year old motor rider, Kwaku Amponsah, who was riding an unregistered Royal motorcycle, with two pillion riders, 24-year-old Abigail Mawuli and Abokyi Michael, 26, who were traveling from Adawso towards Apasare, veered off his lane into the opposite lane on reaching a section of road at the outskirts of Adawso and collided with a Hyundai minibus with registration number GT 5964-10.

“The collision was so intense that the motorcycle caught fire with great impact. The rider, Kwaku Amponsah, and Abigail Mawuli got burnt beyond recognition. Their dead bodies are currently at the Live Now mortuary at Tinkong waiting for preservation and autopsy,” the police said in a statement.
Sergeant Gomado added that the second pillion rider, Michael Abokyi, is on admission at the Eastern Regional Hospital, in Koforidua, responding to treatment.
“We hope he gets well soon and is able to move on with his life. But investigations are ongoing,” the statement said.
