The parliamentary candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party in the Adenta constituency, Akosua Manu, has reassured teachers and constituents that the NPP government cares about children’s education, and remains committed to enhancing the education sector.
Kozie, as she is affectionately called, said this when she made donation of learning materials to 36 Basic, Junior High and Senior High Schools across the Adenta constituency.
The donation included 10,000 exercise books, 10,000 pens, 10,000 pencils and an undisclosed number of calendars.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of educators, Mrs Manu pledged continued efforts to improve their welfare, positioning herself as an advocate for their interests.
Rationale
Kozie, in emphasising the motive behind the gesture, stated that it aimed to motivate and encourage pupils and students, with a special emphasis on supporting the girl child.
Personally leading the distribution, she engaged with students, fostering connections and conversations.
She took the time to listen to their concerns, and pledged to address some of them in the future. During her visit to the Frafraha Community Senior High School (FACOSH), a durbar of students and teachers provided a platform for interaction.
She extended her conversations to both educators and students, encouraging them to be diligent and passionate about their studies as a means to break the cycle of poverty and make meaningful impacts in their lives.
Appreciation
For their part, students and teachers expressed gratitude for Mrs Manu’s gesture.
They requested continued support in the future, highlighting the positive impact such initiatives can have on the education and overall development of the constituency.
