As part of social cooperate responsibility by Akuapem credit union, the management of the union have given 20 exercise books each to over four hundred basic students who have enrolled themselves into a policy by the credit union by name Youth Savings.
Speaking at the program during the presentation, the manager for the Union Mr Alexander Bruce Asare said, the motive behind that policy for the youth is to teach them how to do savings with little that they have.
He noted, is rather unfortunate most of these young children spend a lot of money on things like betting, buying of toffee, credit calls, data etc which is not beneficiary to them.
He also urged parents to motivate their children to cultivate a habit of savings so that when they grow up, they will not waste little money they make on unnecessary things.
Traditional authorities and the assembly man for Tutu have banned children of school going age from roaming in town after 8 pm.
They added any child that will be caught in town after 8 pm, they will fine guardian of that parent 4 bags of cement.
They added, the rate at which weed smoking is taking over the youth of the the town is alarming so therefore they don’t have any options than to banned children of school going age from roaming in town after 8 pm.
Acting eastern regional manager for credit union Mr Kwame Mankata also advice parents to encourage their wards to save as well as themselves.
He added the only better thing as a parent can give to their wards this time round is education so therefore they should invest in their wards education than buying new clothes for funeral and wedding
