
The governing New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei North and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, has launched Best Teacher Awards initiative to recognize and appreciate the dedication and hard work of educators within the constituency.
Speaking during the launch yesterday, she said the initiative would serve as a testament to the government’s commitment to promoting excellence in education.
She highlighted the pivotal role teachers play in shaping the future generation, and emphasised the need to acknowledge their contributions.
Unsung heroes
Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei stated that teachers are the unsung heroes of the society, adding that “it is imperative that we recognize and celebrate their efforts.”
She reiterated the government’s unwavering support for the education sector, and pledged to continue investing in initiatives that uplift teachers.
She explained that the Best Teacher Awards seek to identify and honour outstanding educators who have demonstrated exemplary performance, innovation and dedication to their profession.
Deserving teachers for the awards will be selected based on criteria such as academic achievements, teaching methodologies, community engagement and overall impact on students’ lives.
A panel of esteemed judges, comprising education experts, community leaders and government officials, will evaluate the nominees and determine the winners.
In addition to recognition, recipients of the Best Teacher Awards will receive various rewards and incentives, including cash prizes, professional development opportunities and commendation certificates.
The initiative aims to motivate teachers to strive for excellence, and create a conducive learning environment for students.
