Clement Opoku Gyamfi, Amansie South DCE
The District Chief Executive for Amansie South, Clement Opoku Gyamfi, says government will continue to explore available opportunities to ensure Ghanaians, especially the youth, experience progressive development to better their lives.
According to him, the government will consciously carry out development projects that will contribute to the complete transformation of the populace through the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
Addressing the chiefs and people of Datano during the commissioning of a 30 seater Water-Closet toilets and washrooms facility, Mr Gyamfi said the Assembly was diligently implementing development projects for all 86 communities within the Amansie South District.
The DCE said just as Datano was getting some projects including the toilet facility as well as ten lockable stores and a soon-to-be-completed lorry park, other communities, would also get theirs in due course.
“I am happy that to have a good team who are committed to helping me to design development initiatives that would cause the facelift of the 86 communities under Amansie South,” he added.
Supervisory role
Again, he charged the 9-member committee set up to monitor the operation of the sanitation facility in Datano to dutifully carry out their supervision works.
He pleaded with the Chiefs and people to work with the Assembly in supervising the project so that it would last for a very long time for the community, adding that monies from the facility will be used to keep it running for the populace.
“I urge all of us to take interest in keeping this facility clean and tidy so that it can serve us well and I will urge the committee to keep a good maintenance regime so that the facility can last long for the people of Datano,” Mr Gyamfi stressed.
Sharing the same sentiment, the Amansie South Environmental Officer, Doris Adade, urged the community to keep the facility clean noting that clean environments prevent the incidences of malaria, diarrhoea, and dysentery.
Commendation
In his remarks, the Nkosuohene of Datano, Nana Danso Poku, commended the DCE for assisting the community to put up the toilet facility.
The Chief also commended the Assembly for showing commitment to the development of communities under the district.
He urged the DCE and the Member of Parliament for the area to continue to use their lobbying skills to get all roads leading to the district fixed since the area was a major food basket in the Ashanti Region.
“I commend Opoku Gyamfi for this project including the roads that have been fixed at Kumpese and many other areas but I also plead that he together with the MP work to get roads leading in and out of our district fixed so we can have a booming economy here,” the Chief stated.
