Teaching hospital
Speaking during a brief ceremony to hand over the beds to the beneficiary hospitals, the MP, who also the Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, said hospitals were in desperate need for beds, adding that the situation needed to be addressed immediately. He advised the authorities at the beneficiary hospital to take good care of the beds.
“I am speaking with a number of professionals in the USA, State of Tennessee, trying to sign an MoU for the establishment of first Christian-private teaching hospital in Ghana. And the mission is to build it here in Nsawam. That’s the aim, and ultimately I will be able to build it to the glory of God before I leave office,” he revealed.
The MP stated that because his constituency is surrounded by a cluster of constituencies such as Amasaman, Adeiso, Aburi and Suhum, it has put a lot of pressure on the constituency’s health facilities. He believes the establishment of the teaching hospital will relieve the pressure.
Eunice Abuaku, the Director of Municipal Health Services, expressed her gratitude for the thoughtful gesture of the MP.
She gave the assurance that the authorities would put in place measures to ensure prudent use of the hospital beds. She called on other individuals in privileged positions, as well as groups, to emulate the gesture of the MP, and seeks ways to help improve healthcare delivery in the area.
