The Asante Akim Municipal Hospital in Konongo has been completed, and will soon be commissioned for use.
A tour to the project site by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, revealed that ultra-modern health equipment had been installed at the facility, which will run dental, cardiology, ophthalmology, pediatric, gynecology and orthopedic clinics along with four operating theatres and a complementary 10-unit staff accommodation.
Mr Osei-Mensah, touring some ongoing project sites in the region, mentioned that all the undertaken projects are part of government’s agenda to spread infrastructural development across metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies in the country.

He stated that the 60-bed capacity hospital was expected to be commissioned by the President soon.
The Resident Engineer of the Euroget De Investment and Agyacot Company Limited, Ahmed Massoud, added that the ultra-modern health facility is targeted to boost the health of residents and other nearby districts, thereby easing pressure on the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital in Kumasi.
The Ashanti Regional Minister also visited Xinan Safe Cement Factory and Rider Iron and Steel Ghana Limited, both under the One-District-One-Factory initiative.
According to the companies, their major challenge had been power fluctuations, and therefore appealed to Mr Osei-Mensah to help provide a lasting solution to the problem.
On road construction, Mr Osei-Bonsu inspected the ongoing Dompoase to Lake road. The contractor, Kofi Job Construction, said they would complete Phase One of the project, which is the Dompoase to Abijan Nkwantia half dual carriage road, soon. He also assured the public of an excellent work.
