The Member of Parliament for Tema West, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, has organised a free health screening and treatment programme at the Tema Community 2 Polyclinic to help solve some of the health problems facing the constituents.
The programme was organised in partnership with KUSUDI International Inc, a group of medical specialists, Doctors, medical students from United States and the Tema West Municipal Health Directorate.
It treated patients in podiatry (medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the sole, ankle and leg), neurosurgery (medical treatment of disorders of the nervous system, brain, spinal cord), pro-bone medical services as well as general medicine prescription.
Priority
Speaking during the programme, the Tema West legislator stressed that health concerns of his constituents remains his priority.
He, therefore, indicated that those who lacked the financial resources to access health care will be catered for under his office.
According to him, his office will continue to support them as well as send the medical specialists to heath institutions in his constituency anytime they are in Ghana.
The Tema West MP also disclosed that a lot of infrastructural development has taken place under his tenure. Based on this, he told the constituents to have faith in him to work on other challenges facing the constituency.
Expensive
For her part, the Tema West Municipal Health Director, Dr. Mary Obrepong Owusu, said the treatments giving to patients were expressive where most people could not have accessed it.
She stressed that the programme has helped innumerable constituents in Tema to access quality health care. She also thanked the MP for organising the program, Kusudi international Inc, Heath workers at Tema community 2 Polyclinic.
Dr. Obrepong Owusu therefore called on others to learn from the initiative.
A Doctor of Physical Therapy Associate Professor, Long Island University Brooklyn and Director of Programmes and Founder KUSUDI international Inc, Nia Irene Mensah, revealed that her outfit since 2017 had been providing free health treatment to so many heath institutions in Ghana.
She also expressed appreciation to Tema Community 2 Polyclinic for support they had received from the institution.
