The newly installed chief of Sefwi Adiembra, Nana Kwasi Owusu II, has vowed to deal with any individual who will take the law into his hands to commit crimes that the law enforcement agencies should have taken over.
He pledged to ensure that people who arrested thieves and launch mob attacks on them to death instead of handing them over to the Police face full rigours of the law.
The chief, known in Private life as Benjamin Owusu, a Police Officer currently stationed in Suhum, made this known when he was officially outdoor to the public as the chief of the area over the weekend.
Nana Kwasi Owusu II, who is also the Kyidomhene of the Sefwi Boinzan Traditional Council, warned the youth from undertaking instance justice in the area.
Report
He urged them to report any individual who commits a crime to the Queen mother or elders of the town in his absence instead of taking the law into their own hands and beating the alleged suspects to death.
He also noted that there is a lot of illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, ongoing in his area, and stated his resolve to put measures in place to fight against the menace.
Nana Kwasi Owusu II further assured that he would establish an educational fund to support a girl child education in the area.
He entreated the natives from the community who are in the diaspora to come on board and rally behind him to help develop the area.
