
The governing New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya West, Eugene Arhin, continues to demonstrate his commitment to the welfare of his would-be constituents.
Mr Arhin, who also the Director of Communications at the Presidency, has garnered attention for his proactive initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people he aims to represent.
A tour of various development project sites, either facilitated or funded by Mr Arhin, revealed significant progress in enhancing infrastructure and amenities within the area.
One notable effort is the lobbying to get the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to construct an AstroTurf at Senya Beraku. Preparatory groundwork are almost complete, indicating imminent construction activities.
Additionally, he has secured funding from the central government for the construction of the Awutu Beraku Market, a project crucial for the district’s economic activities.
According to the District Chief Executive for Awutu Senya, Moses Arhinful Acquah, the parliamentary candidate’s advocacy played a pivotal role in ensuring the realization of this vital infrastructure.
The market, a two-storey building comprising 48 shops and 64 stores, upon completion, will address the pressing need for expanded market facilities in the district capital.
The DCE dismissed claims by opposition members suggesting alternative funding sources, emphasising Mr Arhin’s instrumental role in securing the project.
Contributions
Mr Arhin’s contributions extend beyond advocacy, as evidenced by his personal initiatives through ‘The Eugene Arhin Foundation’.
Currently, he is financing the paving of the Bawjiase Lorry Park, aiming to enhance conditions for market vendors, drivers and patrons.
Mr Arhin is also constructing a community centre at Tawiakwaa and a durbar grounds at Okwampa.
He has pledged to prioritize infrastructural improvements, particularly the tarring of inner roads in Awutu Beraku.
The DCE commended Mr Arhin’s dedication to grassroots development, underscoring his proactive approach to addraddressing local needs.
