George Krobea Asante, Deputy National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party and a National Youth Organiser hopeful, has commended the leadership of the party for what he described as an exceptional and historic conduct of the NPP’s presidential primaries.
In a post primaries statement shared on Sunday, February 1, 2026, Mr Asante praised the Presidential Elections Committee for its professionalism and efficiency, noting that the successful organisation of an incident free election reflects the strength and maturity of the party’s internal democratic structures.
“Kudos to the leadership of the Party, and most especially to the Presidential Elections Committee, for such a remarkable performance. To have an incident free election in times like these is truly commendable,” he stated.
According to him, the process stands out not only within the party but also in the broader democratic history of Ghana, describing it as the most peaceful, transparent, free, and fair presidential election ever conducted in the country.
“This is undoubtedly the most peaceful, transparent, free, and fair presidential election ever conducted in Ghana,” Mr Asante said, stressing that the NPP has once again demonstrated its commitment to democratic values and orderly political competition.
He further reaffirmed the party’s reputation as a trailblazer in Ghana’s political landscape, emphasising that the NPP continues to set standards that others can emulate.
“Indeed, we are the NPP, and we will continue to set the pace for others to emulate,” he added.
Mr Asante also extended goodwill to all aspirants who participated in the contest, applauding their conduct throughout the process and calling for unity as the party prepares for the next phase of the electoral journey.
“God bless all the aspirants,” he noted, underscoring the importance of cohesion and collective purpose following the primaries.
He further congratulated former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on his victory, describing the outcome as a moment of joy and renewed hope for the party and its supporters across the country.
“Congratulations to the next President of Ghana, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. This is truly a sweet victory for the NPP,” Mr Asante declared.
