Alhaji Inusah Fuseinu, former National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, has, rather in a shocking turn of event, disclosed that he has no interest in the ongoing presidential election petition at the Supreme Court.
The NDC MP, who had earlier counseled Mr Mahama to declare himself President and form a parallel government, has stated that he is prepared for any eventuality.
No hope
Speaking in an interview with Accra based Okay FM, the former Tamale Central MP disclosed that since the issue came up, he had not been following how it is going.
“The truth is that I have not been following the case, to be honest with you. Have you heard me speak to the matter pending before the court? I am prepared for any eventuality but the truth is that I am not interested in the case,” he said.
Summons
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service have served a criminal summon on Mr Fuseini for his refusal to cooperate with them over his ‘parallel government’ comment.
Mr Fuseini, soon after the declaration of the 2020 general election by the EC, advised Mr Mahama to declare himself president and form a parallel government. The police took the issue up and invited the former legislator for questioning.
However, after several attempts to get him to cooperate with the police proved futile, the service obtained a criminal summons from the court against the former MP.
Mr Fuseini, upon being served the criminal summons, expressed shock by the action taken by the police, and has offered to turn himself in.
