ADK consortium, the contractors that worked on the Parliament Infrastructure Enhancement Project (PIEP), has handed over the project to Parliament.
The current tower block (Job 600) has 252 offices. However, with the current number of MPs as 275, there was the need to construct more offices.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Executive Chairman of ADK Consortium, Ing. Michael Krakue, said the seven-storey office structure with a basement makes provision for 54 offices for MPs, with ancillary office facilities to include 36 offices for research assistants, nine kitchenettes, nine washrooms, two convenience shops, one forex bureau, filing and storage (archives at the basement), 150-seater Multi-purpose Hall and 11 offices for supporting staff.
Job 600 annex
The Job 600 Annex Block has been constructed with connection to the existing members’ block (Job600) and main administration block. This, together with the Speaker’s Block, will afford convenient communication and movement across the cluster of buildings in the enclave.
The two-storey office facility provides office accommodation for 26 supporting staffs of the various departments of Parliament.
Mr Krakue appealed to the leadership of Parliament to maintain a strict regime of maintenance to ensure the preservation of these facilities for now and for all times in the future.
ADK Consortium’s reputation as the foremost consultancy firm in the infrastructural development space in Ghana is best told by the numerous high quality projects it has delivered to the utmost satisfaction of Ghanaians.
Some of these notable projects include the multi-million dollar conversion of the State House Tower Block into offices for MPs and the recently completed Toyota New Head Office Complex.
