Fifty-one out of 52 persons who picked forms to contest for various positions in the NPP had successfully filed their nominations at the time of going to press yesterday.
According to Evans Nimako, the party’s Director of Elections and Research, the 51 include seven national chairmen aspirants, namely Prof. Christopher Akumfi, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Sammy Crabbe, Akwasi Osei Adhei, Joseph Ayikoi Otoo, George Kwabena Abankwah -Yeboah.
Those who filed for vice-chairpersons are Edmond Oppong Peprah, Alhaji Masawudu Osman, Mc Jewels J. Annan, Rita Asobayire, Micheal Omari Wadie, Kwaku Nkansah, Kinston Akomeng Kissi, Danquah Smith, Ismeal Yahuza, Nuworsu Ken-Wuud and Alfred T. Boye.
Jusin Kodua Frimpong, Musah Iddrisu Superior, Frederick Opare Ansah, John Boadu, Charles O. Bissue, Ramseyer Agyeman-Prempeh also filed for General Secretary, while E. Mary Posch-Oduro, Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah, Dr. Charles Dwamena, Dr. I. I. Yussif Tedem filed for National Treasurer.
Running for the National Organiser slop are Daniel Nii Kwartey Titus Glover, Eric Amoako Twum, Bright Essilfie Kumi, Dr Kwame Afriyie, Henry Nana Boakye, Seth Adu-Adjei, Nana Owusu Fordjour, while Kate Gyamfua, Hajia Sawudatu Saeed, Ellen Ama Daaku and Akosua Serwaa Bonsu filed for Women Organiser.
Those who filed for National Youth Organiser are Prince Kamal Gumah, Salam Mustapha, Abanga Yakuba Fusani, Micheal Osei Boateng, Karikari Klinsman Mensah T.
Applicants for the National Nasara Coordinator are Alhaji Muazu Issaka Kunata, Awal Mohammed, Ishmeal Haruna, Sulemana Alhassan Atakpo, Abdul- Rahman Diallo, Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa and Haruna Maiza.
Victory
Meanwhile, a General Secretary hopeful, Charles Onuawonto Bissue, has re-emphasised his commitment to do everything possible to secure another victory for the party, if given the nod to lead as the General Secretary.
He said this after filing his nomination forms yesterday. He underscored the need for the rank and file of the party to join him to realize this dream together, and further appealed to the delegates to vote massively for him to win.
Touting his vast experience in politics, Mr. Bissue reiterated that he has strategies to help the NPP retain power in the 2024 elections.
He believes that the NPP has got to the level where it needs the new crops of the leadership to steer the affairs of the party.
“Where we reached now as the political the party, touted as an efficient political party, we need to manage the structures of the party effectively to help win the general elections in 2024,” he said.
