A member of the NPP National Communications Team, Lawrence Kwesi Botchway Jnr., has emphasised the strength of the party’s presidential candidate, Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, citing his unblemished credibility and integrity over his eight-year tenure.
In an interview, Kwesi Botchway Jnr pointed out the lack of corruption scandals associated with Bawumia’s vice-presidency, unlike his counterpart from the NDC, John Dramani Mahama.
“Dr. Bawumia’s credibility is intact. His integrity is intact. Bawumia has been Vice-President for eight years, and there’s no corruption scandal related to him as Veep. Such a flawless fact cannot be said about NDC candidate John Mahama,” he indicated.
He claimed that during Mahama’s four-year stint as Vice- President, he was implicated in several corruption scandals that tarnished his reputation, and raised serious questions about his integrity.
Challenge
He, therefore, challenged the NDC to name even a single project initiated and executed by Mr Mahama during his four-year term as Vice-President, underscoring what he termed as Mahama’s checkered past.
He expressed confidence in the NPP’s prospects in the upcoming December polls, attributing its anticipated victory to the strategic and innovative campaign tactics being deployed by Dr Bawumia.
“The NPP is not scared of the upcoming December polls. NPP is going to win the 2024 elections hands-down due to the strategies and innovative campaign tactics Dr Bawumia is deploying. The noise and propaganda of NDC in the electoral campaign process won’t go anywhere; it is the same strategy they used in 2012, and they lost, “ he stated.
He further stressed the NPP’s commitment to fair electoral processes, refuting any insinuations of reliance on the Electoral Commission (EC) for undue advantage.
