The Executive Director of Youth for Emancipation, Ghana and Abuakwa North Constituency First Vice Chairman-elect of the New Patriotic Party, Daniel Obeng Acquah, has urged all party faithful to bury their differences, and come together to focus on achieving the agenda to break the eight years’ governance circle.
Mr Acquah admonished party loyalists to come together, and form a united front to break the political jinx, which is yet to be achieved by a political party in the history of this country.
He noted that NPP deserves to stay in power beyond 2024, to consolidate the gains of President Akufo-Addo’s administration and the NPP. He said the party needs to be a more formidable and united in order to break the eight-year-cycle record.
Mr Acquah made this appeal whist delivering a victory speech during the party’s constituency delegates’ conference, where he was elected the First Vice Chairman of Abuakwa North Constituency.
He asked for all factions to come together, saying that will be the only means through which the party can achieve victory in the 2024 elections.
Unity
Mr Acquah further indicated that the NPP’s 2024 victory will depend on the actions of constituency and regional executives, hence the need for the party’s leadership at those levels to strive for unity.
He said posterity would not spare the party if strenuous efforts were not made to retain the party in government in the next general elections.
The constituency First Vice Chairman, who competed three other candidates, polled 319 votes out of the 505 total votes cast. He assured members, supporters and sympathisers of the party that he has a proven track record, and has what it takes to mobilise the youth to facilitate the victory of the party in Abuakwa North, in the Eastern Region.
“All hands ought to be on deck, devoid of factionalism, backbiting and personal attacks to enable the party fulfil its ‘breaking the eight’ agenda,” he urged.
