The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to convene a high-level Joint Stakeholders Meeting on Thursday, January 22, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen internal cohesion and promote unity ahead of the party’s presidential primary.
In the invitation signed by the Secretary of the Presidential Elections Committee, William Yamoah, said the meeting, being organized by the party’s Presidential Elections Committee, will bring together key stakeholders and presidential aspirants for what party officials describe as a constructive engagement aimed at safeguarding the collective interest of the NPP.
According to an official invitation dated January 14, 2026, the Chairman of the Presidential Elections Committee, Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu, has extended invitations to selected personalities as Special Guests, in recognition of their experience, statesmanship, and long-standing contributions to the party and national democratic development.
The engagement is expected to provide a platform for presidential aspirants to benefit from the counsel, guidance, and insights of senior party figures, while also fostering frank dialogue on party unity and discipline in the lead-up to the primaries.
A major highlight of the meeting will be the formal execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by all presidential candidates. The MoU, to be undertaken in good faith, will commit each aspirant to principles of patriotism, loyalty, unity, and party cohesion. Signatories will pledge to uphold the collective interest of the NPP and to remain faithful, loyal, and supportive of the eventual winner of the party’s presidential primary.
Party sources say the move is a deliberate attempt to prevent post-primary divisions and ensure that all aspirants rally behind the chosen flagbearer in the supreme interest of the party.
The Joint Stakeholders Meeting is scheduled to take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Asante Hall of the Alisa Hotel in Accra. The committee expressed profound appreciation to invited stakeholders for their “continued dedicated service and invaluable contribution to the growth, unity, and democratic consolidation” of both the NPP and the country at large.
