The Western Regional Youth Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP), Benedict Addai, has disclosed plans by the party’s youth to break the eight years governing cycle by the two main political parties in the country.
He said this is to enable the NPP to continue implementing its laudable policies for the youth such as Free SHS and School Feeding, which has increased enrolment at the basic level.
Speaking on Takoradi-based Kyzz FM this week, Mr Addai, popularly called “Commander”, said the youth wing would work very hard to ensure that whoever leads NPP after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s tenure of office in 2024 stays in power to continue the good work.
Ghanaians at heart
This, he said, is because the NPP is the only political party which has the interest and well-being of the Ghanaian youth at heart and will continue rolling out policies for their benefit.
NPP, he said, can therefore not afford sitting on the fence for another party to toy with the destiny of the youth.
“Every discerning Ghanaian knows that NPP has never disappointed the youth when it comes into power,” he said.
He has, thus, urged the youth to support the governing party to continue staying in power for their benefit and that of their siblings.
Mr Addai advised the youth to always support a party with vision, dynamism and track record, saying it would be a mistake for the NPP to be voted out.
He added that, unlike the opposition NDC which uses food, drinks and paltry sums of money to entice the youth to its rallies and other programs, the NPP sees the youth as partners in governance and never disrespects them, in or out of power.
