The National Service Authority (NSA) has released the postings for 106,223 prospective service personnel who have been enrolled to undertake their mandatory national service for the 2024/2025 service year.
A statement signed by the Director General of the Authority, Osei Assibey Antwi, said the prospective service personnel included Ghanaian graduates from accredited universities, as well as Ghanaians who completed studies abroad, defaulters, and private registrants.
Registration and validation process
The statement provided a detailed guide on how the personnel could validate and complete their registration for the service year.
“To begin the process, log onto the National Service Authority’s official website at www.nss.gov.gh. Check your placement by following the provided instructions. After confirming your posting, print a copy of your appointment letter. This letter is required for endorsement by your assigned organisation,” the statement explained.
The Authority directed personnel to have their appointment letters endorsed by the User Agency (the organisation to which they have been posted). “Ensure that your letter is signed and stamped by either the Head of the Organisation or the Human Resource Director,” the statement added.
After obtaining endorsement, personnel are to return to the National Service website to book an appointment for regional validation. “Choose a date and time to visit your Regional Validation Centre,” the statement directed.
“Proceed to the Regional Validation and Registration Centre on your booked date with your endorsed appointment letter and a valid Ghana Card to complete the validation process. You will be issued a Regional Acceptance Number (RAN) at the end of the process,” it indicated.
Once validation is complete, personnel must print a new appointment letter that includes their RAN. The NSA advised personnel to make three copies of this letter: one to submit to the NSS District Office, another to the User Agency, and one to retain for personal records.
Key dates
The Authority announced that validation and registration would commence on Thursday, September 12, 2024, and will close on Monday, September 30, 2024. The 2024/2025 National Service Year is scheduled to officially begin on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
The NSA emphasised that reposting was not permitted, urging all personnel to embrace their assigned placements and fulfill their national service obligations.
“Best of luck to all service personnel as they embark on this important journey contributing to Ghana’s development,” the statement added.
