In marking this year’s International Youth Day (IYD), Ghana’s number one urban radio and official frequency for ‘the Young & the Young at Heart’, YFM, has selected and recognised the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Inspired Alswel Foundation (IAF), Alswel Annan, among the thirty young Ghanaians contributing to the creative arts sector and youth development.
The recognition, known as Y POWER ICONS, seeks to recognize 30 young Ghanaians under the age of 40 who have excelled in the creative arts scene and youth development, among others.
In response to this recognition in an interview with the Daily Statesman, Alswel Annan expressed his gratitude, saying: “This honor serves as an inspiration for me to continue striving for excellence, pushing boundaries, and aspiring for even greater achievements. I believe that this recognition will also motivate others to give their best in whatever they do.”
Alswel Annan also extended his heartfelt appreciation to YFM for acknowledging his efforts in youth advocacy and for providing a platform to celebrate young Ghanaians making a difference in their respective fields.
Accomplishments
YFM’s Y POWER ICONS initiative aims to spotlight the outstanding accomplishments of young Ghanaians who have made significant contributions to areas such as music, film, fashion, and youth development.
The recognition of Alswel Annan and his fellow honorees serves as a beacon of hope for the nation’s youth, encouraging them to pursue their passions and actively engage in positive change within their communities.
The IYD, celebrated annually on August 12, is a day set aside by the United Nations to draw attention to the cultural and legal issues surrounding the youth worldwide.
