President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo yesterday visited the family of the late Member of Parliament for Mfantseman, Ekow Quansah Hayford, who was killed, allegedly, by armed robbers last week, assuring that the perpetrators of the heinous crime will be brought to book.
The President, who was accompanied by other government officials, including the Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan, visited the home of the mother of the deceased and his wife and children, both at Mankessim.
“I want to assure you that those who committed this crime will not go scot free. The law will catch up and deal with them. So, my mission here is to console you and let you know that I am greatly saddened by the loss of the MP,” he said.

The President further eulogised the late legislator as a hardworking person whose contribution to the NPP cannot be overlooked.
President Akufo-Addo again indicated that the government would take care of the children and wife of the late MP, adding, “Once I am alive, I will ensure that they are taken care of.”
He urged the family of the late MP to liaise with the Regional Minister in planning for his funeral since he will want to be personally present to bid him farewell.
President Akufo-Addo later donated GHC50, 000 towards the funeral of the late MP.
