Members of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Council
The Eastern Nzema Traditional Council says it does not recognize King Kaku Ackah, a self-acclaimed overlord of Nzemaland, as part of the Council.
Consequently, the Council has cautioned members of the public against according him that recognition and honour. The Council insists that Kaku Ackah is not recognised by the Regional and National House of Chiefs because he is a “charlatan and an impostor”.
Report indicates that he was recently ordered out of a meeting by Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi, President of the National House of Chiefs. It is against this backdrop that the Council says any individual or organization who deals with him on matters relating to land acquisition or chieftancy administration does so at their own peril.
At a press conference on Monday to register its displeasure over the behaviour of King Kaku Ackah, the Council questioned when he was even installed as traditional ruler as well as his paramountcy.

The Council further said the Nzema Maanle Council is made up of seven paramountcies, namely, Nsein, Lower Axim, Upper Axim, Gwira, Eastern Nzema, Western Nzema and Ajomoro.
The traditional council also dared him to state his gazetted number, or produce only one document that legitimizes his kingship.
King Kaku Ackah, who claims to be the overlord of Nzemaland, comes from Awiaso, a village under the Eastern Nzema paramountcy with Odikro status and one Nana Akpanyi Amoh as the chief.
The Council wondered how he could be a king of all Nzemas when he lives in a village with an Odikro status. “Who is this so-called Kaku Ackah, a linguist or Bow man?” the Council questioned.
Addressing journalists, Nana Nyanzu Amihere IV, Chief of Akoto, noted that the chiefs and queen mothers owe allegiance to only one paramountcy, that is Eastern Nzema Traditional area, with Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III as the Paramount Chief.
He said the Council was aware of some undercover dealings by Kaku Ackah to win the loyalty of some villages with ‘Odikro’ status just like his backyard, Awiaso. He added that this would create division, and heighten tension in the traditional area.
He therefore appealed to the National Security Minister and Inspector General of Police to intervene before the inevitable happens.
