The National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) has refuted claims made by a group calling itself the “Concerned NSS Personnel Association of Ghana” (CONSAG), which recently declared a strike for national service personnel.
A statement signed and released by the association’s president, Gideon Osei, categorically stated that no strike had been declared.
The association urged the public to disregard the statement from CONSAG, as it is not a recognised organisation.
“NASPA is in active discussions with the management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) to address the recent delays in allowance payments,” the statement indicated.
The association also informed all personnel that allowances for April 2024 had been processed, and would be reflected in accounts by Friday, July 5, 2024. Additionally, the statement indicated that allowances for May 2024 were expected to be paid by Friday, July 12, 2024.
NASPA reassured all personnel of its commitment to their well-being, adding that it was working diligently to prevent future delays and ensure timely reflection of allowances. It appreciated the patience and understanding of all service personnel during this period.
The statement urged all national service personnel to remain calm, and continue to render their valuable service to the nation.
