The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that its Presidential Elections Committee will, on today, November 6, 2025, hold a press conference to outline the detailed roadmap for the party’s upcoming presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.
This was disclosed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, during a press conference at the NPP’s national headquarters in Accra on Tuesday, November 5, 2025.
Mr. Kodua said the move forms part of the party’s unwavering commitment to conducting a free, fair, and transparent internal election to select its next flagbearer.
“The leadership of the NPP, working closely with the Presidential Elections Committee, has established an Intra-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) that regularly meets with all aspirants or their representatives to address concerns and streamline the roadmap toward the primaries,” he explained.
He noted that the party had successfully completed a nationwide constituency album verification and validation exercise, a process aimed at authenticating the voter register (album) of each constituency and the external branches.
To ensure transparency and credibility, the NPP included current and former party officers and representatives of all presidential aspirants in the verification committees across all levels of the party.
“This collaborative process was designed to enhance confidence in the party’s electoral machinery and ensure that no aspirant or member feels shortchanged,” Mr. Kodua added.
The upcoming press conference by the Presidential Elections Committee will, according to him, provide full details on the modalities and timelines governing the internal election process. This includes eligibility criteria, voting procedures, and measures to guarantee integrity and inclusiveness ahead of the January primaries.
Membership Dues Requirement
Touching on party administration, Mr. Kodua emphasized that payment of membership dues remains a basic requirement for participation in all internal elections.
Citing Article 3(4) of the NPP Constitution, he reminded members that only those “in good standing” — that is, members who have paid all dues and contributions — would qualify to vote or contest in party elections.
“The party will strictly enforce this constitutional provision without exception,” he warned, urging members to pay their dues promptly via the short code *920*270# or through the NPP Mobile App available on Play Store and App Store.
