Mr. Kevin Scott Frey, Chief Executive Officer of Just Keep Going Corporatio
Ghana’s business and innovation ecosystem took centre stage over the weekend as Mr. Kevin Scott Frey, Chief Executive Officer of Just Keep Going Corporation, was named Innovator and AI Pioneer of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Business and Heroes Awards.
The prestigious ceremony, held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the World Trade Centre, Accra, brought together some of the country’s most7 influential business leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and industry stakeholders to celebrate excellence, resilience and forward-looking entrepreneurship across multiple sectors of the economy.

Mr. Frey’s recognition reflects his growing influence in the artificial intelligence space and his contribution to positioning technology as a driver of sustainable economic growth. The award citation highlighted his work in promoting practical AI applications tailored to Africa’s unique development needs, particularly in sectors critical to inclusive growth.
Addressing participants at the event, Mrs. Monica Van Den Broek, Chief Executive Officer of Santa Monica Homes Lodge, delivered a strong message to emerging entrepreneurs, urging them to move beyond theoretical business ideas to solutions that generate measurable impact. She stressed that true innovation lies in execution, not abstraction.
“Entrepreneurs must learn to bridge the gap between ideas and impact. That transition is what creates jobs, drives productivity and supports inclusive growth across the continent. Innovation is not only about technology; it is a mindset. It requires the discipline to experiment, the resilience to learn and unlearn, and the courage to challenge the status quo,” she stressed.
Embrace AI
Taking the spotlight after receiving his award, Mr. Frey turned attention to the future of Africa’s economy, calling on young entrepreneurs to deliberately and responsibly embrace artificial intelligence as a problem-solving tool.
He challenged innovators to focus their efforts on three strategic sectors with the potential to transform livelihoods and expand markets.
He identified agribusiness as a key area for enhancing food security through smart farming solutions, fintech as a critical driver of financial inclusion and secure digital transactions, and digital connectivity as essential for expanding market access and closing infrastructure gaps.
According to Mr. Frey, the intelligent and ethical application of technology remains Africa’s most viable pathway to scaling local businesses, increasing productivity and maintaining global competitiveness in an increasingly digital world.
Celebrating excellence
The awards night also celebrated excellence across several other industries, with honours presented to entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector and individuals whose work has contributed significantly to stabilising and growing the national economy. Award recipients were commended not only for commercial success but also for their commitment to social responsibility and national development.
The 2025 Ghana Business and Heroes Awards concluded with a collective call on the private sector to continue serving as the engine of economic growth. Speakers emphasized the need for discipline, innovation, technology adoption and a strong sense of social impact as Ghana charts its path toward a resilient and inclusive future.
