Dr. Samuel Kusi, Assistant Professor in Marketing, University of Bradford, UK and Head of Branding & Partnership, Ghana Scholarly Society
The Ghana–Yorkshire Trade, Investment and Partnership Summit (GYTIPS 2026) will bring together senior government officials, diplomats, business leaders, investors, academics, entrepreneurs and diaspora stakeholders from Ghana and Yorkshire on 11–12 September 2026 at the University of Bradford.
The two-day Summit will provide a high-level platform to deepen trade, investment, entrepreneurship, innovation, education, research and institutional partnerships between Ghana and Yorkshire, while creating practical pathways towards shared economic prosperity.
Under its central ambition of “Partnership for Shared Prosperity,” GYTIPS 2026 seeks to move beyond dialogue by connecting businesses, investors, universities, policymakers and entrepreneurs to identify tangible opportunities for collaboration, market access, investment and joint ventures.
The Summit, organised by SHOFT (Shape Our Future Together) in collaboration with the Ghana High Commission, UK & Ireland, the Ghana Scholarly Society, UK, University of Bradford School of Management and West Yorkshire Combined Authority, UK, will convene 150–200 business leaders, investors, exporters, policymakers, academics, professional advisers and diaspora entrepreneurs from Ghana and the United Kingdom. Its purpose is practical: to generate qualified connections, advance investable opportunities and convert dialogue into durable commercial and institutional partnerships. Thus, it will provide a strategic platform for exploring opportunities in trade, investment, manufacturing, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable economic development.
The theme of the Summit is:
“Yorkshire Leading the New Regional Business, Trade and Investment Agenda for Innovation and Sustainable Growth.”

Building a Ghana–Yorkshire Economic Bridge
GYTIPS 2026 will explore opportunities across education, financial services, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, agriculture and agribusiness, renewable energy, logistics, tourism, creative industries, professional services and entrepreneurship.
The Summit will facilitate business-to-business engagement, investment discussions, institutional partnerships, knowledge exchange and market access, with a strong focus on converting conversations into tangible commercial and development outcomes.
A key objective is to position Ghana as an attractive destination for investment and as a gateway to wider African markets, while enabling Yorkshire-based companies to identify new opportunities for expansion, partnerships and internationalisation.
Academia, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Hosted by the University of Bradford, GYTIPS 2026 will place particular emphasis on the relationship between universities, industry and economic development.
Discussions will explore joint research, knowledge transfer, industry–academia partnerships, professional skills development, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. The Summit will also support SMEs, start-ups, women entrepreneurs and young innovators by creating opportunities for mentoring, networking, investment and international market access.
Engaging the Ghanaian Diaspora
The Summit will recognise the Ghanaian diaspora as a strategic partner in Ghana’s economic development. Beyond remittances, diaspora communities contribute investment capital, expertise, professional networks, technology, mentorship and access to international markets.
GYTIPS 2026 will therefore encourage greater diaspora participation in trade, investment, entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer and business partnerships.
From Dialogue to Action
Participants will have opportunities to discover new markets, meet potential partners, explore investment opportunities, develop joint ventures and build long-term commercial relationships.
The Summit’s message is clear:
Trade creates connections. Investment creates opportunity. Partnerships create lasting impact.
GYTIPS 2026 represents a strategic commitment to building stronger economic bridges between Ghana and Yorkshire by connecting people, businesses, institutions, investment and ideas.
