A group of young men nicknamed the Buz Stop Boys, leading the way for a clean country, has paid a courtesy call on the Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Osei Assibey Antwi.
The visit was aimed at strengthening the ongoing efforts to align Ghana with President Nana Addo’s ambitious vision of becoming the cleanest city in the sub-region.
Speaking during the visit yesterday, the Leader and Founder of the group, Heneba Kwadwo Safo, thanked the NSS Executive for the warm reception, and expressed his unwavering dedication to upholding Ghana’s cleanliness standards.
He emphasised the profound impact of sanitation on public health, calling for collective action in safeguarding the nation’s well-being.
“I laud President Nana Addo’s relentless pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), which underscores the significance of clean water and sanitation for all. It is a good thing that must be embraced,” he said.
Kwadwo Safo further commended the NSS Executive Director for his vision and commitment towards the Clean Ghana Campaign instituted by the President.
Prioritising sanitation
For his part, the Executive Director of NSS, Osei Assibey Antwi, stressed the urgency of prioritizing sanitation education and advocacy among Ghanaians.
He reiterated NSS’s unwavering commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at promoting hygiene and cleanliness.
“I equally applaud your proactive stance in advancing President Nana Addo’s sanitation agenda, highlighting the president’s unwavering passion for fostering a cleaner Ghana. The clean Ghana agenda is a duty call, and the time is now,” he noted.
Mr. Assibey Antwi extended the Scheme’s support to the ‘Buz Stop Boys’ noble cause, affirming the alignment of their vision with the national agenda.
“In the annals of Ghana’s history, the Buz Stop Boys’ name will stand as proof of the power of ordinary citizens coming together to effect extraordinary change. Your legacy will inspire future generations to uphold the principles of environmental stewardship and civic responsibility, ensuring that the dream of a cleaner Ghana becomes a tangible reality for all,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the gathering witnessed a notable presence from key stakeholders, including the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Mr. Ofosu Nkansah, and the Director of Administration, Mr. Paul Owusu Appiah, Second in Command, Head of Logistics, and Executive Member, James Safo, Kwadwo Safo Jr., and Godwin Nartey of the Buz Stop Boys, respectively.
