Dr. Tom Asiseh, Independent Presidential Candidate

An independent presidential hopeful, Dr. Tom Asiseh, says what Ghana needs is a change in the current system of leadership to one that prioritises the interests of its citizens above all else.
Speaking during a press conference in Accra, he said the existing structure and approach to governance in Ghana are inadequate, and require a fundamental shift.
Dr. Tom Asiseh emphasised the importance of citizen-centric policies, transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in decision-making processes.
He said the views he expouses represent his perspective and the platform of the Ghanaian Diasporan Movement.
Wake-up call
Assuring to bring fresh ideas and alternative approaches to governance, challenging established political parties, he said it is time to stand up and fight for the nation.
“Our fight is not violence, but it is not going to result in wounds because the electorate will vote for their conscience. Ghanaians must vote for conscience. They are not going over there. They’re doing everything possible to make sure that they’re still on top.
“Nobody is breaking the eight. The duopoly political system is breakable. It has come to the point where you need to dictate the pace. You are the one to decide how Ghana will be because you have a good conscience,” he added.
‘Buy election’
According to Dr. Asiseh, the country’s democracy “cannot thrive on the highest bidder”, adding that if the growing phenomenon persists, the country will end up producing and voting for incompetent leaders.
“Those who offer money and other benefits for electorate have nothing good to offer except to engage in corrupt practices,” he said.
Appeal for votes
Urging Ghanaians to support his candidature, Dr Asiseh stated, that if given the nod, he will use the CICI model to appoint leaders and will encourage the grassroots level to follow same.
He mentioned that the CICI model which uses common sense, intelligence, consciousness and integrity, will be his criteria for the selection of leaders.
“We believe when these principles are encouraged, Ghana will produce leaders who will maintain higher standards of professionalism. I will ensure that my appointees or leaders would have to satisfy the CICI criteria before they hold any political position in Ghana,” he stated.
“Vote for honesty, firm leadership and integrity. Dr. Tom Asiseh is not just a politician but a transformational leader who understands the intricacies of leadership to explore in order to move Ghana from a third-world country to a first-world country,” he added.
