Dr. Kingsley Agyemang is worthy of commendation

Dear Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, I humbly write to commend you for your good work done in the Abuakwa South Constituency.

Years ago, the people of Abuakwa South cried for help but to no avail. It was until a Messiah from above showed up to attend to the needs of the constituents and proffer solutions to their problems.

That Messiah is you, Dr. Agyemang. You have been wonderful to Ghanaians at large. You have had great impacts on both the youths and the aged, and the records are there.

You are one of the handful of government appointees who have distinguished and transformed their organisations into first-class entities since assuming the mantle of leadership.

Life has been smooth for the average parents, who could not afford to take their children to school or further their education. You have granted both internal and external scholarship opportunities to students who are ‘brilliant but needy’ to engage in meaningful academic pursuits.

Opportunities

It is refreshing to know that under Dr. Agyemang’s leadership, the Scholarship Secretariat has offered more scholarships to applicants than it has ever done. Indeed, over 100,000 students have benefitted from scholarships in the last five years.

Again, it is now easy to apply for a scholarship to study either in a local or foreign institution, regardless of your location in the country. The digitisation of the Scholarship Secretariat means you can now sit in the comfort of your home, and apply for a scholarship online, unlike in the recent past where you had to travel to the Scholarship Secretariat to hand-deliver your application.

I will be doing myself a disservice if I do not talk about your two key initiatives, namely the “Kingsley Maths and Science Quiz” and “Kingsley Spelling Challenge” in the constituency, which are challenging more students to learn hard to grab the opportunities that accompany them.

I can confidently say that it is during your tenure of office, as the Registrar of Scholarship Secretariat, that more Ghanaian students have benefited from education.

Your contribution towards education is rare in the sense that you have built so many Classroom Blocks and Units to support students in the various communities in the constituency to aid them to study hard.

Your donation of books and ICT materials to assist students to embark on research in enhancing their knowledge in education is also in the good books of Okyeman. We would one day write about it. You have been phenomenal and supportive in many ways.

Developments

Undoubtedly, you have played instrumental roles in the development of Abuakwa South and we are much grateful. You have given many of the youths in the constituency employment opportunities.

It is because of you and a few others that we have gotten many people from Okyeman in the security agencies like the Ghana Police Service, military, fire service, immigration, customs, among others.

Now, no one stays at home to think of how to make money through mining or farming. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “good leaders inspire their team and provide a strong sense of purpose. They also encourage and do everything possible to help everyone move forward during troubled times and help them see the light at the end of the tunnel”.

Dr. Agyemang, you are the light we have seen at the end of the tunnel and you are an epitome of Matthew 4:19, which reads “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” and Genesis 17:4 – “As for me, here is my covenant with you: You will become the father of many nations”.

This is my message to support your political journey, as you aspire to be the next Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Constituency.

May the good Lord give you the wisdom that He gave Solomon, a very great insight, and an immeasurable level of understanding, as the sand on the seashore, to lead the people of Abuakwa South Constituency.
