A Deputy National Communications Director for the NPP, George Krobea Asante, has called on Ghanaians to outrightly reject the candidacy of John Mahama in the upcoming elections.
In a statement, Krobea Asante argues that Mahama is merely seeking an opportunity for revenge after being voted out in 2016.
Highlighting Mahama’s previous term in office, he accuses him of causing Ghanaians to endure the hardships of dumsor for four years, cancelling teachers and nurses training allowances, implementing a total embargo on public sector employment, and failing to adequately supply basic schools with essential resources such as chalk.
Asante points out Mahama’s statement of being a “dead goat” even when he was eligible for one more term by law, suggesting a disregard for the concerns of the Ghanaian populace.
Asante warns that voting for Mahama, who is barred from running for reelection by law, would only serve as an opportunity for him to seek revenge for his previous defeat.
As an alternative, the NPP Deputy Communications Director advocates for the candidacy of Dr. Bawumia, asserting that after his first term, Bawumia would be held accountable for his actions before being considered for a second term.
He emphasises that Bawumia represents the future, while Mahama symbolizes the past.
He urges Ghanaians to make a conscious choice between the past and the future, asserting that voting for Dr. Bawumia and rejecting John Mahama is imperative for the progress of the nation.
