A group calling itself Coalition of Youth in Entrepreneurship (CYE) is appealing to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to consider the Director of Monitoring & Evaluation at the National Entrepreneurship & Innovative Plan (NEIP), Joseph Mackay Kumah, as the Chief Executive Officer of the organisation. If considered, he will be replacing to Mr John Kumah, who is now the Member of Parliament for Ejisu.
According to the group, Mr Mackay Kumah’s experiences gathered over the years as Director of Monitoring & Evaluation at NEIP puts him on a sound footing to administer the agency as its CEO.
Prerogative responsibility
A statement signed by Nana Obiri-Yeboah Aborampah, chairman of the group, said while it believes in the decisions of the President and also respects the fact that he has the prerogative responsibility to appoint whoever he deems fit for any position, it equally believes that Ghana has a listening President who considers the views of stakeholders in his appointments.
“We have no doubt that he would also heed to our call as it would have a long way to impact positively the development of our enterprises and economy of our beloved country, Ghana, at large,” the statement said.
“It is worthy to commend the President for the introduction of NEIP and the subsequent appointment of the former CEO, Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah. Lawyer John Kumah’s performance at that office requires that NEIP gets a perfect replacement for continuation of the good works…” it added.
