Kwabena Agyei Agyepong
The campaign team of Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong says the resignation of its former Campaign Manager, Hon. Ofosu Asamoah, carries no political weight and does not affect the momentum of the movement. According to the team, Mr. Asamoah’s decision to pursue a different path within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not disrupt its strategy or diminish its commitment to engaging delegates across the country.
This was contained in a communiqué signed by Nana Ama Asantewaa Kwarko, Campaign Spokesperson for the KAA Campaign Team.
Per communiqué, the campaign acknowledged the development but insisted it would have no bearing on its operations or momentum. According to the communiqué, the team “has taken note of the decision by our former Campaign Manager, Hon. Ofosu Asamoah, to pursue a different political path within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).”
While conceding that the move was unfortunate, the campaign was emphatic that it did not come as a surprise. It stressed that political realignments were a natural feature of party politics, stating that the defection “is neither unexpected nor disruptive to our mission.”
The team further noted that the KAA project draws its strength from a broad, voluntary coalition and not the loyalty of any single personality. The statement added, “The KAA campaign is built not on the shifting allegiance of a few individuals, but on the unwavering conviction of a broad and dedicated coalition of willing patriots.”
The statement expressed appreciation for Hon. Asamoah’s service, saying, “We thank Hon. Ofosu-Asamoah for his prior contributions and sincerely wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Unperturbed
Addressing party supporters and delegates, the campaign called for composure and renewed dedication, assuring them that its vision and determination remained unshaken. It reassured the base, declaring: “Do not be perturbed. Our resolve is stronger than ever. This campaign is never about a single person; it is about a fundamental cause… the restoration of our cherished principles of genuine service, sacrifice and selflessness.”
The communiqué highlighted Ing. Agyepong’s resilience over the past decade, referencing what it described as “orchestrated political adversity,” during which the former NPP General Secretary was “ostracized and maligned” yet remained loyal to the party. The campaign emphasized that Ing. Agyepong’s commitment “is forged in resilience, not in the transient allure of resources.”
Admitting financial limitations compared to other contenders, the campaign stated: “We openly acknowledge that we do not possess the vast exchequer available to our fellow Aspirants. Our strength lies elsewhere.” It insisted that its message, not money, was driving its rising support nationwide.
Vote-buying?
Reaffirming its reformist message, the KAA team reiterated its opposition to what it called the “unbridled monetization of our politics,” which it argued contributed to the NPP’s “most humiliating recent defeat.” Instead, the campaign offered “a politics of substance, integrity, and a clear vision for our Party’s future.”
The team said grassroots engagements would continue unabated as Ing. Agyepong intensifies his outreach ahead of the primaries. “Our focus remains on engaging with delegates, sharing our transformative policy agenda, and working tirelessly to secure victory in the upcoming primaries,” the communiqué read.
Optimism
The statement said the campaign is buoyed by “grassroots support and positive energy” and called on all supporters to stay disciplined and united: “Let us continue to work hard together, united in purpose, to deliver a victory that will set our party and our nation on the path to true prosperity. Together, we shall prevail.”
