The Leader and Founder of the Israel King of Jews Church, Nakoa Prophet Nazareth Ansah Jamson, has called on residents within the Ga Traditional Area to strictly comply with the upcoming ban on drumming and noise making, which takes effect from Monday, May 12, 2025.
Speaking in an interview, Nakoa Nazareth emphasized the importance of observing the sacred period, which precedes the annual Homowo festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of the Greater Accra Region. According to him, it is the duty of all, irrespective of religious or social backgrounds, to respect the ban in recognition of the sanctity of the occasion.
Nakoa Nazareth, who also serves as the Noyaa Mantse (Development Chief) of the Onomrako Adain Family in the Greater Accra Region, clarified that the observance is not a fetish practice, as some may perceive it. Rather, it is a cultural and spiritual exercise aimed at preserving the peace and unity of the community.
He urged all, including religious bodies, churches, and other institutions, to respect the month-long directive in order to foster peaceful coexistence between them and the traditional authorities. Failure to do so, he cautioned, could lead to confrontations with youth groups who are often tasked with ensuring compliance with the Ga Traditional Council’s directives.
In his capacity as the Spiritual Leader of the Prophets and Spiritual Churches Council, Ghana, Nakoa Nazareth assured that his church would fully adhere to the ban. He reiterated that the observance is crucial for maintaining the sanctity of the period and sustaining the longstanding peace in the region.
