The Chief Executive Officer of P.A.K Enterprise, Precious Aba Kwansma, has called on Ghanaians to always consider the opportunities the country stands to gain if they wear local apparels.
This comes in the wake of calls to ensure that the economy rebounds.
Ghana is currently recovering from the impact of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war that have succeeded in affecting many economies across the globe
“Instead of wearing foreign apparels for national functions, Ghanaians can actually do more of local stuff just so that we contribute significantly towards efforts aimed at reviving our economy,” she urged.
She made this call over the weekend in an interview with the Daily Statesman on ways to revamp the economy.
According to her, Ghana’s economy can be boosted if a more decisive effort is channeled into making good use of local kaftans, shirts, smock, kaba, slit, among others.
“We have beautiful fabrics at our disposal. It is imperative to use them for our kaftans, protocol services, dowry carring, product activation and other made in Ghana dresses. That way, we will be able to contribute significantly towards efforts in bringing the economy back on track,” she noted.
Exhibition
On using exhibitions to put Ghana on the international market, Precious Aba noted that such a strategy will offer opportunities for people in the diaspora to come over to patronise local clothes.
She further indicated that when “we put together a good number of local exhibitors who are into quality Ghanaian clothes, getting buyers around the world wouldn’t be an issue”.
She further observed that Ghana can reexamine its fabric industry to achieve this all-important national developmental agenda aimed at eradicating poverty and boosting the economy.
“I don’t want to think we can’t revive the economy when there are different options that will go a long way to augment the numerous losses owing to the impact of COVID-19 as well as the Russia-Ukraine war. We can; let’s get in touch and get things done,” she added.
