
Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II, Board Chairman of the NCA
The Board Chairman of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II, has emphasised the importance of continuous development in the telecommunications industry. He urged stakeholders to prioritize the advancement of the electronic communications sector and its service delivery to enhance consumer satisfaction.
Speaking at a consumer forum held at the University of Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale, he reiterated the Authority’s commitment to protecting stakeholders’ interests and safeguarding the rights of consumers.
He stressed the need to maintain the energy generated and keep pushing for transparency, integrity, and justice in consumer affairs. He admonished consumers to be vigilant and informed, adding that “together we can safeguard the rights of consumers in the telecoms space”.
Full participation
The NCA Board Chairman also urged all and sundry to remain involved in this development process. “As we leave this premise, let us educate others and utilise the resources available to us, including channelling our telecom service issues to the service providers and the National Communications Authority (NCA) for redress,” he stated.
He assured the general public that the NCA would continue its advocacy and empowerment efforts. He added that the NCA and stakeholders would continue to build a telecoms industry that prioritises the well-being and satisfaction of its consumers.
The Consumer Forum, organised by the National Communications Authority (NCA), serves as a platform for addressing telecommunications-related issues and engaging with consumers.
It was held in accordance with the Authority’s mandate outlined in Section 26 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775). The forum was on the theme “Safeguarding consumer rights through effective communications”.
