The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says preparations for the party’s National Annual Delegates Conference and election of national officers are progressing according to schedule.
The conference is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The assurance was given following a final engagement between the NOEC, aspirants and their representatives on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to brief contestants on the rules, regulations, guidelines and operational arrangements for the elections.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman of NOEC, Frederick Opare-Ansah, the committee said the meeting also provided an opportunity to address outstanding issues requiring clarification ahead of the conference.
Final Delegates Register
The committee announced that the final delegates register had been completed and would be available for collection by aspirants or their authorised representatives from Thursday, September 17, 2026.
NOEC has also established an online verification facility to allow delegates to confirm their eligibility ahead of the elections.
According to the committee, delegates can access the verification facility through the NPP’s official website by selecting the “Verification” option on the navigation bar.
They will then be required to enter either their phone number or Voter ID number and use a One-Time Password (OTP) to complete the verification process.
NOEC encouraged all delegates to verify their eligibility well ahead of the conference to resolve any discrepancies before election day.
Voting Arrangements
The committee has outlined specific voting arrangements for some of the national positions.
It said all eligible youth delegates would participate in the election of the National Youth Organiser in addition to the other elections for which they are entitled to vote.
Similarly, all female delegates would vote in the election of the National Women’s Organiser, alongside the other positions for which they are eligible to vote.
For the election of the three National Vice-Chairpersons, each delegate will be required to select three aspirants. NOEC said the tally system would be used to count votes in that election, with detailed voting instructions to be communicated to delegates before voting begins.
Agents and Proxy Voting
To strengthen transparency and representation during the electoral process, aspirants have been asked to submit the names of their printing agents who will monitor the printing of ballot papers.
They are also required to provide the names and photographs of their polling agents to facilitate identification, accreditation and access arrangements.
NOEC further confirmed that proxy voting would be permitted. A Proxy Voting Framework has been developed to guide eligibility, applications, verification, approval and the eventual casting of proxy votes.
The final Proxy Register is expected to be published on September 27, 2026.
EC to Conduct Elections
The Electoral Commission of Ghana will conduct the elections under the supervision of NOEC and in accordance with the rules and guidelines established by the committee.
NOEC said it was working with the Electoral Commission and the Ghana Police Service to put in place arrangements aimed at ensuring an orderly, secure and transparent election.
Delegates are expected to arrive in Kumasi on Friday, October 2, and proceed to their assigned accommodation facilities. The conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. the following day.
Media Accreditation
Media organisations, journalists and bloggers seeking to cover the conference are required to obtain accreditation by September 21.
NOEC also announced plans to establish a Media Village at the stadium for accredited media houses wishing to set up studios for pre-event and post-event coverage. Requests for space must be submitted by Friday, September 18, 2026.
For security and operational reasons, accredited media houses will not have access to the stadium’s inner perimeter. Instead, the party’s dedicated production team will provide an official broadcast feed to broadcast houses for live transmission and use.
Mr Opare-Ansah said NOEC remained committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, orderly and credible electoral process, while urging aspirants, delegates, supporters and agents to comply with the established electoral, accreditation and security arrangements.
He also thanked the Electoral Commission, Ghana Police Service, party structures, aspirants, delegates, the media and other stakeholders for their cooperation as preparations enter the final phase.
