The District Chief Executive of North Dayi in the Volta Region, Edmund Attah Kudjoh, on Friday, commissioned a 6-unit classroom block for Vakpo Senior High School.
The classroom block, which cost some GH₵ 634,436.50, was sponsored by the assembly, through District Assembly Performance Assessments Tool, a mechanism used to assess and measure the performance of district assemblies in Ghana.
The initiative, according to the DCE, is aimed at accentuating government programmes in enhancing academic excellence in the country.
Speaking during a brief ceremony at the school, the North Dayi DCE noted that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had made a lot of investment in education, urging all stakeholders to protect the investment.
“It is in the same vein that I am leading the assembly to support the President’s vision in making sure that education remains the bedrock of the development of the country,” the DCE added.

Projects
Mr. Kudjoh Attah further listed some projects and interventions that the NPP government had undertaken since 2017 in the district.
He mentioned a 500-capacity boys dormitory at Vakpo Senior High School, 400 capacity boys dormitory at Vakpo Senior Secondary Technical, 3-unit classroom block at Anfoega Senior High and an ongoing dining hall and administration block all at Anfoega Senior High.
The DCE also cited a teacher’s bungalow at Aveme Beme Basic School, 6-unit classroom block at Wusuta R.C JHS, and Botoku Tove R.C JHS, 6-unit classroom block at Brada Tornu, 4-unit classroom block at Wusuta Anyafo and 6-unit classroom block at Vakpo Konda
He assured the gathering of his continuous support to the GES in all areas, including, sports, culture and other co-curriculum activities in the district.
Furniture
The DCE also presented furniture to all three second-cycle institutions in the district. He presented over 700 desks and 100 dining hall tables and benches, amounting to GH₵ 388,752.00, to ANFOESEC, VASTECH and VASEC.
He urged them to take care of the property as part of their duties and responsibilities.
On behalf of the schools, the headmaster of VASEC thanked the District Chief Executive, describing him as “affable and workaholic”. The head teachers also acknowledged that the entire district is enjoying so many benefits from his leadership and will continue to pray for him.
