The National Women’s Wing of the New Patriotic Party has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for emerging victorious as the flagbearer of the NPP for the 2024 general elections.
According to the women, the dedication, leadership, and commitment of the Vice-President to the party’s ideals have not gone unnoticed.
In a statement signed by Kate Gyamfua, National Women Organiser, it noted that the women believe in the ability of the Vice-President to lead the party to success in the 2024 general elections.
Appreciation
The women also expressed their appreciation “to the other esteemed candidates, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former Minister for Agriculture, and Ing Francis Addai Nimo, former MP for Asante Mampong.”
“Your participation enriched the democratic process within the party, and we acknowledge the passion and dedication each of you brought to the race,” the statement said.
“As we move forward, united and stronger, we assure the entire NPP family of our commitment to a vigorous campaign. Together, we will break the 8-year governance cycle in Ghana.
The National Women Wing stands steadfast in solidarity, ready to contribute actively to the success of the party in the upcoming elections. In unity, we find strength, and with the unwavering support of our members, we are confident in achieving victory,” it added.
Youth wing
In a related development, the National Youth Wing of the party has also congratulated the new Flagbearer and pledged its full support for him just like his other contenders have.
A statement signed by Salam Mustapha, National Youth Organizer, said the wing is excited by “his understanding of the many challenges facing the youth of this great country of ours and his vision to tackle them.”
“The national youth wing is fully ready to help achieve these goals and aspirations for the betterment of our young generation.
“A new dawn has beacon. A new Hope has been birthed. The youth expect so much from you and the National Youth Wing knows that you are capable of delivering. We are excited to have you lead us. We are waiting to work with you and achieve success together,” the statement added.
The NPP over the weekend elected Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia as its flagbearer going to the 2024 general elections. Dr Bawumia polled 118,210 votes representing 61.43 per cent and defeating his three other contenders in the race.
