Greater Accra Regional Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Jennifer Appiah Bempah
The Greater Accra Regional Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Jennifer Appiah Bempah, has urged the 2024/2025 service personnel to report to their places of posting promptly, and contribute their skills and talents to their respective organizations.
According to her, such positive behaviours would be the distinct factor that will propel them to greater heights in no distant future in the world of work.
Speaking in an interview with the Daily Statesman on the importance of national service, she emphasised the critical role the service year plays in shaping the professional future of the personnel and the nation as a whole.
Commitment
Jennifer Appiah stressed the importance of approaching the service year with commitment and enthusiasm, encouraging the personnel to make their impact felt in every capacity they find themselves.
“This is an opportunity for you to give back to Ghana by utilising your skills and talents for national development. You must always have Ghana at the back of your mind as you work assiduously to project the image of our country through your actions,” she noted.
She further reminded the service personnel of the need to maintain a high level of discipline, particularly punctuality, throughout their service year. “Being punctual is a mark of discipline and professionalism, and I urge you all to cultivate this habit as you begin your service. It is a trait that will open doors for you in your professional careers,” she stated.
Evaluation
She stressed the importance of adhering to the monthly evaluation process, which is vital for a smooth and hassle-free service year. She advised personnel to ensure their monthly evaluation forms are printed early and submitted to their respective supervisors for endorsement.
“Make it a priority to print your monthly evaluation forms early and have them duly signed by your supervisors. This will facilitate a smooth evaluation process and ensure that your service year progresses without unnecessary delays or complications,” she advised.
The Director assured the personnel of the NSA’s support throughout their service year and encouraged them to stay committed to their duties and uphold the values of the scheme. “I urge them to seize the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to their places of work, knowing that they are serving a larger purpose by contributing to the development of the nation,” she added.
