President Akufo-Addo and Okyenhene exchanges pleasantries
Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin has asked politicians, especially appointees of the current government, to emulate the exemplary leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Speaking at a durbar held in honour of the President on Friday, the Okyenhene said even though the President was born into a “good home”, he has embraced the values of unity equity, equality, freedom and justice for all as his personal virtues.
He noted that even though the President could have amassed wealth for himself and make property out of Ghana’s purse, like some other politicians, he is rather implementing policies that have benefited all Ghanaians and improving their living standards.
‘Toaso’

Osagyefo said he will be shocked if Ghanaians go to the polls and vote against President Akufo-Addo following the many life-changing policies he has implemented.
“It is said that by their fruits, we shall know them. If his policies are bearing fruits, who are we to reject such visionary leader. Nana, Okyeman says ‘toaso’,” he said.
“Your One District One Factory, One Village One Dam, Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, the NABCO initiative, your numerous infrastructure projects like roads have all yielded good fruits; and like Jesus said a tree that yields good fruits must be made to grow.
“Just like the singer, Lucky Mensah, said in his songs, Nana Akufo-Addo has exceeded all expectations as President and must be given the nod to continue for a second term,” the Okyenhene noted, adding that the people of Akyem have also seen the development under Akufo-Addo, as was echoed by the Asantehene last week.
The Okyehene is the recent high profile traditional ruler to have made statements that endorse the second-term bid of President Akufo-Addo.
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II last week assured the President that his record in office “will speak for him” in this year’s election.
“Your good works in office will speak for you. We in Asanteman remember. Asanteman will remember your good works on election day,” the Asantehene said.
Also speaking at a durbar to welcome him at Kwahu-Abetifi on Friday, Kwahuhene Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II commended the President for the many development projects initiated since 2017.
Showering praises on the President for putting down pragmatic measures to help deal with the spread of the covid-19 in the country since its outbreak in the country, Daasebre wished the President the best of luck in this year’s election.
Vote on my record
President Akufo-Addo, who received overwhelming support from the people of the Eastern Region, thanked them for the warm welcome.
“My government did not come to do lazy work. All aspects of our national life have benefitted from our policies, be they in health, roads, industrialization, or agriculture. My government has worked for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
“I have proven that I did not come to lie to Ghanaians, but to work for the progress and development of Ghana and for all Ghanaians. I am asking the people of Ghana to assess me on the basis of my record, and, if they were satisfied with it, they should give me an opportunity to do more for them by voting for me,” the President said.
