The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) has inspected development projects in the Adentan Municipality to assess their progress and examine how development initiatives are being implemented at the local level.
The inspection, conducted on October 12, 2026, covered the upgrading of the 2-kilometre Komando Road which is yet to be completed, construction of drainages and 2 culvert works, the upgrading of Islamic University Road, and the completed Maame Donkono Road project.
Officials of the Adentan Municipal Assembly said the projects were at different stages of completion.
“The projects are at various stages of completion, with some recording approximately 61 per cent progress, while others have been completed and are currently in full use,” Assembly officials said.
PIAC commended the Assembly for the development projects within the municipality but urged officials to ensure that all outstanding works were completed within the agreed timelines.
”We encourage the Assembly to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed within their stipulated timelines,” PIAC stated.
The Committee also noted that outstanding payments to some contractors had contributed to delays in the execution of certain projects.
The inspection formed part of PIAC mandate to monitor and also seeks to strengthen public oversight and ensure accountability within the municipality.
