A young man identified as Andy Sackey, alias Foofo, was last week found dead in his room at Kwakyea-Adweso, a suburb of Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital.
The incident took place last Thursday at about 3pm. One seamstress, Gladys Sarpong, had decided to visit the deceased at his house because he was not answering phone calls when she found out he was dead. According to the lady, the deceased was her storeroom partner. She noticed his absence from work without any excuse, and was also not answering phone calls. That prompted her to check on him at his residence.
She said upon reaching his house, he was still not answering his phone even though the sound of the ringing phone could be heard from the room. This forced the lady to attempt breaking into the room, but noticed the door was left unlocked. Upon entering, she found Sackey’s dead body lying in his living room.
Investigation
She then reported the incident to the Police who proceeded to the house for further investigation.
According to the police, they found the body lying in front of his 3-in-1 sofa with only black boxer shorts. The body was carefully inspected by the lead police investigator, Constable Gloria Salassie, but did not find any marks of assault.
The body was removed and conveyed to St. Joseph Hospital where medical experts also confirmed him dead. Investigations are however underway to unravel the cause of his death.
