The Ghana Police Male and Female Volleyball Teams have officially confirmed their participation in the 2026 Confederation Africaine de Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3 Club Championship, following the formal submission of registration forms on January 19, 2026.
The registration process was completed when the Director of Sports of the Ghana Police Service, ASP Bernice Timbilla, handed over the duly completed participation forms to Mr. Bernard Anbataayela Mornah, acting on behalf of the Ghana Volleyball Federation. The championship is scheduled to take place in Accra from 1st to 8th March 2026 and will bring together club teams from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, and Togo.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, ASP Timbilla highlighted the connection between sports and policing, stating that supporting Police sports is a direct investment in effective policing and national security. She called on corporate institutions, partners, and stakeholders to extend support to Police sports initiatives, emphasizing that such backing contributes to the overall development and morale of the Service.
By completing the registration, both the Male and Female Volleyball Teams have formally committed to representing the Ghana Police Service and the Republic of Ghana at the regional championship. The teams are now preparing for what promises to be a competitive and impactful tournament, aiming to showcase the talents of Police athletes while promoting excellence and sportsmanship on the continental stage.
