The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has donated assorted items to the Children’s Block and Mothers Hostel of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The food items were bags of rice, soft drinks and boxes of biscuits. Other items included were thermometers, BP apparatus, syringes, gloves, plasters, tissue paper, basins, assorted detergents, toiletries, ceiling fans, food warmers and mop buckets.

Presenting the items, the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Prof. J. O. Y. Mante, said the donation was done to show the love of God towards humanity at Christmas.

“Christmas is a time of giving. God gave His Son to save the world; Jesus is a gift to the world and I pray that we all receive this gift of God. These items are being donated as one of the ways to show the love of God during Christmas,” he stated.

Present at the brief ceremony were Rev. Enoch Adjei Pobee and Rev. Dr. Joseph Kofi Antwi, Chairperson and Clerk of the Ga West Presbytery respectively; the National Director of the Church Life and Nurture Department of the PCG, Rev. Joshua Bossman Ohene; and the Minister in Charge of the Ebenezer Congregation, Mamprobi, Rev. Daniel Asante.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Children’s Block, the acting Chief Nursing Officer, Madam Emma Hammond, and Dr. Taiba Jibril Afaa were very grateful.

They said the donation items was timely, adding that it would go a long way to improve health delivery and services at the Block.

They were full of appreciation for the kind gesture from the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. Rt. Rev. Prof. Mante prayed for the staff on duty and the children on admission.
