Seth Adu-Mensah, Founder & Leader of Team Blaze Foundation

The Founder and Leader of Team Blaze Foundation, a non-governmental organisation aimed at helping the less- privileged in the society, Seth Adu-Mensah, was part of the over 200 delegates from across the globe who participated in the Best Diplomats Conference in Dubai, UAE.
He represented Colombia in the international grand symposium.
Best Diplomats is a New York based organisation which focuses on organising diplomatic simulations of the United Nations which serves as a platform for young leaders and change makers to exchange ideas, and resolve the most challenging global issues.
This year’s international grand symposium, which was held from September 16 to 19, 2022, was on the topic “Solving Global Food Crisis”.
Lessons
Speaking exclusively with the Daily Statesman, Mr Adu-Mensah noted that, as a global community, one of the bitter lessons “we are supposed to have learnt from the twin issues of the COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine War is the food insecurity issue, with its associated threat of hunger, insufficiency and malnutrition in various parts of the world, and which requires a united front to address”.
According to him, the symposium has helped the current imbalances in food sufficiency, with calls for urgent convergence of ideas and resources to ensure adequate food access.
Touching on how the diplomatic simulation programme had influenced him, Seth said he had obtained a first-hand information on leadership skills, negotiation and knowledge on diplomacy, thorough research, particularly in Columbia.
“The Best Diplomats has given me a lot of insight, varied rich experience, exposure and wisdom. As a delegate, I had the opportunity to also debate and discuss the topics with my fellows, and posed questions to distinguished speakers,” he said.
He added that it is an ideal avenue for “a young diplomat like me to grasp the lobbying and critical thinking skills set that will enable me to become a better diplomat”.
He thanked the Best Diplomats for the opportunity given him, and looked forward to upcoming events in Bangkok, Egypt, Thailand and Turkey next year.
