The founder and president of Team Blaze Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) aimed at helping the less- privileged in the society, Seth Adu-Mensah, is spearheading efforts to help provide equitable access to quality education in Tano South constituency of the Ahafo Region, through a philanthropic drive aimed at alleviating challenges faced by students in rural areas.
As part of the Foundation’s objectives to support underprivileged communities, Mr. Adu-Mensah is distributing educational materials, stationery and sports equipment to schools across the constituency.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Statesman, he revealed that he was targeting the distribution of over 20,000 exercise books, pens, pencils and other school essentials to various schools in the constituency.
He noted that, so far, he had visited several schools within the area, each benefitting from the Foundation’s resources and outreach programmes.
Distributions
At Holy Trinity Basic School in Techimantia, Mr. Adu-Mensah donated school uniforms and educational materials to students to address their academic needs.
During his visit to Nyamebeye Basic School, he provided books and other learning materials to enhance education in the school. Similarly, he distributed exercise books and additional supplies to students at Akobro Basic School.
At Asubio Basic D/A School, Mr. Adu-Mensah supported students by providing sports kits such as footballs, volleyballs and cones alongside other educational materials. His visit to R/C JHS in Techimantia was marked by an interactive session with junior high school students, during which he shared valuable knowledge on leadership and how they could prepare for future success.
At Dwomo R/C School, he engaged both students and teachers, exchanging ideas on how to improve education in the community.
Commitment
Mr. Adu-Mensah emphasised the critical need to support education in rural communities, particularly for girls. He reaffirmed his commitment to championing initiatives aimed at bridging the gap in quality learning opportunities.
He underscored the pivotal role of education in empowering young people and fostering long-term development in underprivileged areas. “Investing in education, especially for girls, is essential to unlocking the potential of our communities and building a brighter future,” he stated.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by students and schools in rural settings, he called on the community to join hands in improving educational infrastructure and access for all children in the area. He noted that a collaborative effort among government, private entities and the local population would be key to ensuring sustainable development.
“I am committed to bringing the needed development to Tano South,” Mr. Adu-Mensah assured, adding that enhancing education would give hope to the youth and inspire them to reach greater heights.
As part of his vision, he revealed plans to advocate policies that prioritize rural education, encourage public-private partnerships to address resource gaps, and implement targeted interventions to support girls in pursuing their education without hindrance.
