Maame Ama Edumadze-Acquah, Administrator of OASL

The Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands (OASL) has organised a 3-day training conference for its district officers across the country to equip all operational staff with modern trends of work to enhance their operations.
Opening the 3-day training conference, the Administrator of OASL, Maame Ama Edumadze-Acquah, explained that the training would help officers in optimising the mobilisation of customary land revenue to alleviate poverty in stool land-owning communities.
She stressed that it would aid in ensuring accountability and good governance in stool land revenue collection, usage and disbursement, and providing an adequate and capable workforce to support the office’s operations.
“The conference is also meant to bring all District Officers together, for knowledge sharing which will enhance collaboration, as well as help find better ways of working for the collective growth of the Office,” she stated.
Opportunity
The OASL Administrator noted that as intermediaries between the Regions and other staff, the conference will create an opportunity to interact with the operational staff to enable them table their needs and grievances.
She gave the assurance that management, will in turn, find practical solutions to these grievances to create open and conducive environment for work.
On the points for discussion, Mrs Edumadze-Acquah mentioned the OASL Operational and Communication Policy, the OASL Act and its Legislative Instrument, Modern Trends in Audit, Basic Accounting Techniques, Effective Revenue Mobilisation, among others.
These key areas, she said, were thoughtfully selected to ensure that all participants become well-equipped to improve work output as well as share the knowledge with colleagues.

She further touched on the ‘OASL Rev App’, which was launched in October last year. “Times are changing and so is the OASL. Management is doing its best to equip all Offices with the necessary equipment for the process and we count on your support to make this programme a success,” she noted.
Assurance
She assured the officers that the resource persons selected for the 3-day conference had been carefully sourced both internally and externally to achieve the desired results.
She stressed that, in recent times, trainings are not done for the sake of it but also for appraisal purposes, noting that the “Office of the Head of Civil Service wants to ensure that all trainings have impact on staff work output”.
“Thus, during promotional interviews, practical questions on trainings are asked and interviewees are expected to express how they have applied the knowledge,” she added.
The Administrator of OASL lauded the hard work of all who have endeared themselves to the task like the Nkawkaw, Donkorkrom, Kodie, Sunyani West, Axim, Kenyasi among others. She urged them to keep up the good work, assuring that “management will continue to give the necessary support”.
She also advised the officers to remember the purpose of the training even as they learn since it will go a long to make them better ambassadors of the OASL.
